AMMI launched the AMMI Medical Device Industry Outlook and Status Rpeort 2018/2019 in conjunction with its Annual Dinner at Ruyi and Lyn Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur on 6 December. The guest of honour was Deputy Secretary -General Dr Ong Kian Ming. Over 100 members and guests attended the event.
The Completion Ceremony for the Regulatory Compliance, Manufacturing Excellence and Quality Professional courses was held at the Olive Tree Hotel, Penang on 26 October 2018. Mr Yap Kee Keong (AMMI Vice-Chairman/ Leader of Talent Development/ Group Chief Executive Officer of Texchem Group) presented the certificates to the participants. AMMI Board Members, Mr Paul Brandeis (AMMI Treasurer/ VP – Head of Medical Plant, B.Braun Medical Industries) and Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr Haminnuddin CEO (AMMI Director/ CEO of Ideal Healthcare) and HR Leaders from participating companies – Abbott, Ambu, B.Braun Medical Industries, Diptech, Ideal Healthcare, KLS Martin, Orthomedic, Teleflex, Texchem – also attended the ceremony.
Thirty-two participants attended the AMMI training on Medical Design Control Training held at G Hotel Gurney This interactive course led by trainer Mr Gobu Devarajan, engaged the participants with in-depth discussion of industry best practices to learn how industry leaders address design control challenges.
Twenty -eight participants attended the AMMI training on Risk Management held at E&O Hotel Penang. The training led by Mr Harry Wong provided participants with a clear understanding and insight into the EN ISO 14971:2012 requirements and the Annex Zs . It also covered practical knowledge on how to apply FMEA as one of the commonly -used risk management tools.
Seventy-seven participants attended the AMMI training on EtO Sterilization for Medical Devices, conducted by Mr Richard Cowman from STERIS. The training was held at E&O Hotel Penang. The one-day course provided participants with a general overview of ethylene oxide as well as updates on ISO TS 21387.
