National Security Council

17 April 2020 –  National Security Council has issued an FAQ statement on MySejahtera – an application developed by the Government of Malaysia to assist in managing the Covid-19 outbreaks in the country. It allows users to perform health self-assessment on themselves and their families. The users can also monitor their health progress throughout the Covid-19 outbreak. In addition, MySejahtera enables the Ministry of Health (MOH) to monitor users’ health condition and take immediate actions in providing the treatments required.

FAQs related to Movement Control Order (Edition 4)

18 April 2020 –  Here are the key points from the latest FAQs released  MITI related to the Movement Control Order…

Point 1 – Pending MITI’s decision,companies are allowed to operate with the same manpower capacity as per  previous MITI approval.

Point 14 – Companies that have received approval to operate prior to the 3rd phase, are encouraged to reapply to obtain the updated MITI approval with QR code

Point 15 – Companies with a list of registered and approved workers need to make Covid-19 screening at the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) health clinic panels throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Guidelines from SOCSO are being detailed and will be notified in the near future.

Point 16 – Cost of the screening will be covered by SOCSO / PERKESO.

Point 17 – Companies can continue operations (and do not have to wait until all workers’ have undergone the COVID-19 screening) as long as they ensure that the Covid-19 screening are being carried out in accordance with the guidelines and terms (of which SOCSO will inform.)

6 April 2020 –  The Social Security Organisation (SOCSO/ PERKESO) has released a statement of FAQs on the Wage Subsidy Programme.  is to avoid employees being fired and losing their income. This programme is not automatic and employers would need to register to be eligible for it. Employers can sign up at PERKESO’s website starting from 1 April 2020.

6 April 2020 -The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) released the 2nd Edition of  FAQs related to the MCO-Phase 2.  A key FAQ  is that  companies are not allowed to replace names of staff listed under the approved list for companies who are operating during the MCO period.
