AMMI commissions an annual survey among its members to capture their contributions in terms of economic impact. The objective is to get a pulse on current industry developments and provide insights that can help create forward-looking policies to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a global MedTech hub.
More importantly, the survey serves as a barometer of the overall health of the Malaysian MedTech sector. AMMI members collectively generated 53% (RM16.35 billion) of Malaysia’s total medical device export value and employed 60.5% (39,858) of the industry’s workforce in 2020, despite making up less than one-third of the country’s MedTech manufacturers.
