AMMI briefs MIDA on the Medical Device Industry Outlook 2014

July 4, 2014 – A high-level meeting took place recently between the Association of Malaysian Medical Industries (AMMI) and the Malaysian Development Authority (MIDA) at MIDA Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. The objective of the meeting was for AMMI to brief MIDA on the Medical Device Industry Outlook 2014. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials from MIDA and AMMI members.

AMMI Chairman, Mr Hitendra Joshi gave a presentation on the AMMI Industry Survey Status and outlook for the future of the Medical Device Industry; reiterating AMMI’s commitment towards supporting Malaysia in its quest to emerge as a leading international hub for medical device manufacturing in Asia Pacific. He also presented copies of the 36-page report to MIDA CEO, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Azman Mahmud.

The MIDA contingent also included Mr N. Rajendran (Executive Director at the time of the meeting; currently Deputy CEO II), Y. Bhg. Dato’ Wan Hashim Wan Jusoh (Executive Director at the time of the meeting; currently Deputy CEO III), Mr N Sangaran (Executive Director ), Mr Jaswant Singh (Executive Director ), Ms Azian Mohd Yusof (Executive Director ), Ms Zarina Saad (Senior Deputy Director,Life Sciences & MedTech), Ms Lim Bee Vian (Director-Industry Talent Management), Mr Ahmad Khairuddin Abdul Rahim (Director – Clean Technology & Environment Management), Ms Noor Aieda Ahmad (Senior Deputy Director – R&D & Business Services). Ms Fatmah Ahmad and Ms Surayu Susah (both Deputy Directors -Life Sciences & MedTech).and officers from relevant divisions.
