From advanced diagnostics to precision surgical instruments, their collective presence at the pavilion perfectly demonstrated why Malaysia remains a top-tier global hub for MedTech. Forty (40) members and guests attended the AMMI Q3 Briefing and Networking Lunch. The session dove straight into updates and key upcoming events, covering major developments across AMMI’s key pillars: Policy Advocacy, Talent Development, Operations Excellence, and Strategic Industry Partnerships.

A major highlight of the day was the celebration of the completion of the Talentcorp MyMahir Medtech Talent & Employment Programme (MTEP). AMMI Vice-Chairman, Dato’ Dr Yuma Konishi, presented the certificate to Ms Tai Shi Ying of Zeito Plastics (the sole participant from KL). 27 participants joined the programme, and the remaining certificates will be presented at upcoming sessions in Penang and Johor Bahru.

AMMI members convened at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel for a Closed-Door Consultative Dialogue with the National Wages Consultative Council (NWCC) on 29 June 2026.

The session was honoured by the presence of YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Utama Zainal Rahim bin Seman, Chairman of NWCC, Ministry of Human Resources, together with NWCC representatives. The dialogue covered key areas of Malaysia’s wage governance and reform, including structural transitions, institutional frameworks, international benchmarking, the RMK13 wage mandate, and broader wage governance developments.

AMMI expresses its appreciation to NWCC for the constructive exchange, and to all members for their active participation and valuable input.

AMMI recently hosted an HR Roundtable at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel, bringing together HR leaders from member companies to discuss workforce and wage challenges facing Malaysia’s medical device industry.

The session featured a briefing by Ms. Tan Lin Im, Co-Leader of the AMMI Talent Development Committee and Senior APAC HR Director at Teleflex Medical, followed by interactive discussions on wage compression, workforce productivity, talent retention, and the evolving role of HR in driving organisational performance. The roundtable provided a valuable platform for members to exchange insights and collaborate on strategies to strengthen the industry’s workforce.

AMMI 37th Annual General Meeting and Q2 Progress Meeting

AMMI hosted its 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Q2 Progress Meeting, and CEO Networking on 11 June 2026 at E&O Hotel, Penang. Over 50 members attended the event.

This was followed by the Q2 Meeting, which also featured a Closed-Door Dialogue with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.  Speaker Mr Sanjilatheeban A/L Subramaniam (Senior Assistant Director of Customs, Customs Division, Penang) addressed the questions from members.

11 June also marked the retirement of AMMI Chairman, Mr. HT Eow, who was warmly acknowledged for his outstanding dedication and service on the Board. We recognise your steadfast leadership and support through the years as AMMI Chairman 2025/2026, AMMI Vice-Chairman 2024/2025, AMMI Board Member since 2023 and AMMI Secretary-General 2017-2018.
