Over 30 members attended the AMMI Q1 Meeting held at Pullman Hotel, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. MIDA and SME Bank presented during the meeting. After the meeting members and guests adjourned for the AMMI CEO Networking Session.
Over one hundred and twenty members and invited guests attended the AMMI 30th Anniversary Dinner and Launch of the AMMI Medical Device Industry Status and Outlook 2019/2020 held at E&O Hotel Penang on 5 December. The event started with the AMMI Q4 Updates and continued with networking cocktails.
During the dinner, AMMI Chairman, Christophe Marque presented the AMMI Medical Device Industry Status and Outlook Report 2019/2020 to Encik Mohamad Ismail Abu Bakar, MIDA Executive Director (representing MIDA CEO, Dato’ Azman Mahmud.)
Highlight of the night was the sharing session on the “Impact of Medical Technology” by three very special guests – Mr Sundar Selvaraj, Ms Natalie Dong and Ms Muna Raihannah. They shared their journey on how medical technology has made a difference in their lives.
Christophe Marque also presented the AMMI 30th Anniversary Appreciation Awards to founding members (Ansell, Bard -now known as BD, B. Braun and Baxter), for Top Participation in AMMI Public Training (Abbott, B. Braun and Texchem Group) and for Contribution in Global Expert Sharing (Amcor, B. Braun, DuPont, STERIS).

Fifty one participants attended the AMMI Global Expert Sharing Session on EU MDR held at G Hotel Kelawai Penang.
Guest speaker, Mr Thomas Stefan Brand, Vice President Quality Management for Non-active Medical Devices, Hospital Care Division, B. Braun Melsungen, Germany provided participants with the insight into major challenges of the new EU MDR, its impact on medical device manufacturers, and how organizations can prepare to ensure a smooth transition.
Twenty HR professionals from AMMI member companies attended the AMMI HR Roundtable held at G Hotel Gurney. Dr Yuma Konishi, (Texchem) AMMI Director of the Board and Leader of the Talent Development Committee, led the roundtable discussions.
The objective of the roundtable is for all HR leaders of AMMI member companies to come together to create a stronger voice in championing common issues and chart strategic agenda.
Thirty members attended the AMMI Q3 Meeting held at Jen Hotel Puteri Harbour in Johor Bahru. Prior to the meeting, members also joined the an exclusive AMMI Members’ visit to Biocon Sdn Bhd, Asia’s largest integrated insulins manufacturing facility at the Biotech Park in Johor.
