AMMI recently hosted its Q3 Progress Meeting, and CEO Networking at Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together over 30 members and guests for a full day of strategic discussions and industry engagement. The event wrapped up with networking session at Colonial Cafe.
10 June 2025: AMMI EGM, AGM Q2 Progress Meeting and Networking
AMMI recently hosted its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Q2 Progress Meeting, and CEO Networking at G Hotel Gurney, Penang. The event brought together over 40 members and guests for a full day of strategic discussions and industry engagement.
The session began with the EGM, followed by the 36th AGM, during which the Board of Directors for the 2025/2026 term was elected.
The Q2 session featured a presentation and dialogue with Ms Yusni Md Yusup, Director of Strategic Planning & Policy Advocacy (Manufacturing) at MIDA. Ms Yusni shared timely updates on the New Industrial Master Plan (IMP), new investment incentives, and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Tax Incentive Package.
The meeting also marked the retirement of AMMI Treasurer, Mr. Michel Van Crombrugge, who was warmly acknowledged for his outstanding dedication and eight years of service on the Board.
The event wrapped up with a lively networking cocktail at G Spot Gurney, offering members a chance to connect and celebrate industry camaraderie.

27 February 2025: AMMI Q1 Progress Meeting and Networking
The AMMI Q1 Progress Meeting at E&O Hotel Penang brought together over 40 members and guests for key industry updates. The session included the presentation of the 2024 AMMI Annual Report, followed by insights on MITI’s proposed amendment to the Industrial Co-ordination Act 1975. TalentCorp’s briefings covered the 1:3 Internship Policy and the impact of AI, digitalization, and the green economy on the medical device sector. The event concluded with a networking cocktail session, fostering valuable industry connections.
28 February 2025, Penang – A total of 353 graduates and company representatives attended the AMMI Medtech Professional Certification Programme Completion Ceremony for the Central Region, held at E&O Hotel, Penang.
The ceremony began with Welcome Remarks by AMMI Executive Director, Mr. CS Ching, followed by an Opening Speech by Mr. Samuel Pooranakaran (AMMI Vice-Chairman). A speech was then delivered by Mr. Suresh Kaliaperumal, Vice President of Operations at Collaborative Research Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST).
Graduates from the Manufacturing Excellence, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Production Programmes received their certificates during the event.
17 February 2025, Kuala Lumpur – Over 70 graduates and company representatives attended the AMMI Medtech Professional Certification Programme Completion Ceremony for the Central Region, which was held at Aloft Hotel KL. The ceremony started with Welcome Remarks by AMMI Executive Director, Mr CS Ching. This was followed by Opening Speech by Mr Samuel Pooranakaran (AMMI Vice-Chairman) and Speech by invited guest Mr Ahmad Zamfidi , Program Director (IOT) , Collaborative Research Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST). Participants from the Manufacturing Excellence, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Programmes received their certificates during the ceremony.
