7 Dec 2017 AMMI Annual Dinner

AMMI held its 2017 Networking Cocktails and Dinner on 7 December at the Majestic Theatre.  Built in 1929, Majestic Theatre (previously known as Shanghai Sound Theatre), was the first cinema in Penang to screen Chinese “talkies” (films with sound instead of silent). The Majestic Theatre provided the perfect setting for a nostalgic 1950s theme. Eighty six  AMMI members and guests attended the event.

AMMI Q4 Progress Meeting and Updates

The event started off with the AMMI Q4 Progress Meeting and Updates at the upper deck of the Majestc Theatre.

Networking Cocktails and Dinner

After the Q4 progress meeting, guests were ushered into the main hall for networking cocktails.
During dinner, guests were entertained by the Yan Yang Tian Acrobatic and Cultural Centre – starting with the opening performance of Umbrella Changing.
This was followed by the Welcome Speech by AMMI Chairman Mr Hitendra Joshi .

Appreciation Session

AMMI also took the opportunity to hold an appreciation session for its industry expert trainers as well as members of its Talent Development and Regulatory & Technical Committee. Mr Yap Kee Keong, AMMI Treasurer and Leader of Talent Development Committee presented tokens of appreciation to Talent Development Committee members, Mr Mohamad Anwar (Paramit), Ms Cynthia Ooi and Ms Chee Wei Bee.

Dato’ Dr Haminuddin, AMMI Director and Leader of Regulatory & Technical Committee then presented the tokens of appreciation to the Regulatory & Technical Committee members who were present.

The entertainment continues with Dart Blowing performance with two very sporting volunteers, Ms  Jess Tew (KLS Martin) and Ms Ang Xin Li (Abbott)
More dare-devil dart blowing performance, this time with the very very brave, AMMI Vice-Chairman, Mr Christophe Marque.
The Yan Yang Tian Acrobatic and Cultural Centre performed its finale, the Internal Power performance, with the help of two more very brave volunteers, Mr Frank Ried and AMMI Director, Mr Suwit Tunlayadechanont.

All in all it was a good night – great networking fun and camaraderie. See you all again in 2018!
