| The AMMI-NCIA Medtech Talent and Employment Programme concluded with the Completion Ceremony for the final batch of graduate trainees at Sunway Hotel on 12 April 2016 . It was indeed a proud moment for the graduate trainees from Batch 2 when they received their certificates from Mr Michael Raja, Manager of Education & Human Capital Development, of Northern Implementation Corridor Authority (NCIA). The event was also graced by Mr Hitendra Joshi, Chairman, Association of Malaysian Medical Industries (AMMI) , Mr KK Yap (AMMI Director & Leader of Talent Development Committee ), Cik Azhana Binti Mohamed Saleh (Director, MIDA Penang), Encik Abdul Mukti bin Abu Bakar (Director, MIDA Kedah & Perlis ) and Puan Nor Asmahan Othman (Industry Partnership, Talent Corp) as well as HR Representatives from participating companies. |

| AMMI-Medsociate organised its Industry Expert Series Training Course on Medical Device Manufacturing Process Validation at E&O Hotel Penang from 1-2 June 2016. The 2-day course was designed to
provide regulatory/quality systems professionals, manufacturing engineers, and process development engineers with the knowledge and skills needed to comply with the process validation requirements of the FDA’s Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 and the GHTF Validation guidance N99-10 while offering information on how to implement an effective validation programme. |

20-21 July 2016 : Transition to ISO13485 : 2016 QMS
| AMMI-Medsociate organised its industry expert series training on Transition to ISO13485 : 2016 Quality Management System on 21-22 July at E&O Hotel Penang. Over 40 participants attended the course.
This course introduced the concepts needed to understand, develop/upgrade, and deploy a quality management system as outlined in the medical devices quality management standard ISO 13485:2016; as well as discussed the aspects of ISO 14971, which contains key principles and guidance for risk management. |

AMMI HR Forum 6 May 2016 in Penang
| AMMI held its first AMMI HR Forum 2016 at E&O Hotel recently. The event was organised, exclusively for HR Professionals of Member Companies.
AMMI Chairman, Mr Hitendra Joshi and AMMI Director/ Leader of Talent Development Committee, Mr Yap Kee Keong were present to support the event. |
| The objectives of the meeting and networking session were (1) To share best practices in building strong organisation and filling competent employment in medical device industry (2) To facilitate open discussion on common interest related to human resources (HR), talent development, salary scale alignment for common benefits in medical device industry and (3) To exchange new ideas on HR issues. |

The full day event started off with a presentation on Compensations and Benefits by guest speaker Mr Zain Azrai bin Dato’ Zaaba (Korn Ferry Hay Group) , followed by a presentation on Impact of TPPA on the Labour Law by guest speaker, Mr K. Kesavan , Senior Principal Assistant Secretary, Policy Division, Ministry of Human Resources. This was followed by a sumptuous buffet lunch at Sarkie
s. The afternoon session saw panel members, Ms Cynthia Ooi (VP, Human Resources, B.Braun Medical Industries Sdn Bhd) and Mr Joshua Chong (Senior HR Manager, Ambu Sdn Bhd) taking the lead on the discussion of Employee Retention – The First 90 Days. This was followed by Open Discussion and AMMI Updates, before participants adjourned at 5pm. |

10th March 2016 : AMMI Q1 Meeting and Networking
| AMMI held its Q1 Meeting and Networking at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur recently. Around 50 members and invited guests attended the event. Highlights of the programme include presentations by
Ms Rhenu Bhuller (Foster and Sullivan) on the 2016 Healthcare Industry Outlook and Encik Ahmad Khairuddin (Executive Director of MIDA) on the 2015 Investment Performance in Medical Device Sector. AMMI Chairman Mr Hitendra Joshi gave a presentation on AMMI’s 2020 Strategic Roadmap. He later presented a copy of the 2015 AMMI Annual Report to MIDA Executive Director Mr Ahmad Khairuddin to signify the release of the report. After the meeting, members and guests adjourned to Smokehouse Lounge for an evening of networking. |
